Why This Is an Investment
Babies change quickly, especially in the first few weeks. Professional newborn photography preserves details that can’t be recreated later — tiny features, expressions, and the overall feel of your baby’s earliest days. These images become meaningful keepsakes and artwork for your home that you’ll cherish for years to come.
Why Hire a Professional Newborn Photographer
Newborn photography is a specialized skill that requires experience, training, and a strong focus on safety. When choosing a photographer, it’s important to prioritize professional knowledge over price alone.
I am fully licensed and insured, with over nine years of experience and extensive training and mentoring from some of the top newborn photographers in the industry. When you invest in my services, you’re investing in years of hands-on experience and education.
Your baby’s safety is always my top priority. I handle every newborn with gentleness and care, and for certain poses I may ask for a parent’s assistance. All props used in my studio are sourced from professional newborn vendors and tested for safety. Outside props are not permitted. Payment plans are available if budget is a concern.
Important Things to Know
A $200 retainer fee is required to book your session and is applied toward the package of your choice. The remaining balance is due on the day of your session. All sessions include a set number of digital images, with additional images and print products available for purchase. For full pricing and package details, please complete the contact form and I will send you my full pricing guide.
Sessions take place in my cozy studio located in Orillia, Ontario. All props, accessories, and maternity dresses are provided. I accept a limited number of sessions each month to ensure availability around due dates and to provide every client with the best possible experience, so booking two to three months in advance is recommended.
The ideal time to photograph your newborn is between five and fifteen days after birth, when babies are typically sleepier and easier to pose. Older babies up to three to four weeks may be accommodated based on availability.
Debit, credit, and cash payments are accepted. All prices are subject to HST. All sales are final and prices are subject to change at any time.
The Booking Process
Once you’ve chosen a package, you’ll receive an invoice for the retainer fee, which reserves your due date on my calendar. After your baby arrives, you’ll contact me to schedule your session date, ideally within the first two weeks.
Maternity sessions are scheduled between 28-34 weeks. Once your retainer is paid, I will provide available dates to choose from. Booking early in your second trimester is recommended to ensure availability.
